SUMMARY:
The Plant Superintendent oversees all day-to-day plant operations including the hourly crews and contractors. In this role, you will achieve production and shipping targets by coordinating the activities of our shift operations. A major emphasis should be placed on developing shift foreman to adequately lead crews and make sure there’s a clear day-to-day vision shared between the shifts. This job also requires extensive problem solving with the crews to maintain production and uptime.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and improve attitudes and culture amongst the crews.
- Ensure all activities are performed safely.
- Encourage a safe work environment that leads to a solid safety culture with low incident rates.
- Train employees on safety by following our programs to comply and exceed MSHA requirements.
- Develop crew foremen to become effective leaders.
- Optimize plant processing including managing load cycle times, pump operation, classifier operation, and other processing equipment.
- Drive continuous improvement at the plant to achieve higher quality, lower cost, and gain efficiencies.
- Advise on changes in standards, work methods, equipment, and process modifications.
- Prepare operational reports including financials, production records, and shipping records.
- Advise management of all current or potential problems.
- Work with the plant manager to ensure that goals are being met in the proper manner.
- Work with the Maintenance Superintendent to coordinate activities effectively.
- Procure production supplies and parts as required.
- Direct the mining contractor to perform work according to the mine plan and to ensure resources are maximized.
- Oversee hiring of hourly employees.
- Perform other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of experience in frac sand or the mineral processing industry.
- 5+ years of supervision and management experience in a production environment.
- Able to work full time in West, TX.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- 30 CFR Part 46 training preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering field is preferred.
