The A.C.Coy Company has an immediate opening for a Plant Mechanical Engineer. The Plant Engineer will provide engineering support to maintain continuous plant operations and high efficiency. This position serves as a key technical resource in solving problems relating to stationery and rotating equipment, covering daily plant needs as well as project responsibilities.
Responsibilities:- Serve as a lead site technical resource for piping systems, stationary equipment, and rotating equipment
- Provide technical expertise in the identification, investigation, and resolution of plant operating, safety, and design issues to ensure plant reliability and availability
- Provide technical expertise to support safe and reliable plant operation and maintenance of components
- Support maintenance and work management by resolving engineering technical issues within the work management process, including simple trouble shooting support
- Implement solutions to continuously improve reliability and reduce maintenance cost
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of industrial plant experience working with rotating equipment, piping systems, and preventative maintenance
- Working knowledge of pumps, fans, blowers, compressors, motors, and gearboxes
- Proficiency in basic computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of industrial codes & standards (API, ASME, ANSI, OSHA, State)
- Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings, blueprints and documentation
Preferred
- Experienced with bearings (rolling & sleeve), couplings, mechanical seals, and pressure vessels
- Experience with oil analysis, vibration analysis, outage planning, parts and machinery refurbishment, and re-engineering of parts
- Specific knowledge of power plant operation and steam turbine generator sets.
- Basic knowledge of electrical generation, transformer, and power distribution
