Job Summary
The Plant Manager is responsible for managing and guiding the plant to achieve business results established by the Company while meeting customer expectations. They will establish productive work systems that allow us to meet the customer and corporate service expectationsJob Description
Direct and manage all plant operations and maintain overall responsibility for production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve plant objectives.
- Create strategies to move the business successfully into the future
- Develop ideas to achieve and exceed business goals – think creatively
- Provide leadership to each of the teams at the facility
- Ensure alignment of plant operations with organizational goals.
- Efficiently manage resources, including personnel, budget, machinery, and materials.
- Optimize resource utilization to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Supervise daily operations to ensure efficient production and product quality.
- Implement continuous improvements in operational processes.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Implement quality control systems and conduct regular audits.
- Maintain effective relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and manage expectations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Coordinate audits and ensure the plant stays current with legal requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
- Implement continuous improvement programs.
- Address operational issues and efficiently resolve challenges.
- Make effective decisions to ensure production continuity.
- Regularly report to top management on plant performance.
- Communicate effectively with different levels of the organization
Education
Essential
• Bachelor’s degree is required in a relevant field
Desirable
• MBA is a plus
Experience and qualifications
Essential
• 5+ years of experience in leading in a manufacturing environment
• Must have strong understanding of Electrical manufacturing and products
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (electrical/mechanical assemblies and motor assembly is preferred)
• Knowledge of 6S Lean Manufacturing is required
• Experience with and knowledge of understanding and interpreting financial reports – using them to make business decisions
• Requires a mindset of Continuous Improvement
• Experience in and ability to influence and lead multidisciplinary projects.
• Management of multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills are required including presentation skills and communicating with all levels in the organization
• Must be resilient, self-motivated, and have a strong positive attitude
• Demonstrated ability to be innovative and challenge the status quo
Languages
• English required
• Spanish is a plus
