Position Summary:
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and safety. This position ensures efficient processes, cost-effective resource management, and alignment with company goals. The Plant Manager works closely with department supervisors and staff to optimize production while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight: Direct and manage plant operations, including production schedules, quality control, maintenance, and inventory management.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate employees; establish clear roles and responsibilities to maximize productivity and engagement.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Prepare and manage plant budget; control costs, reduce waste, and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce health and safety regulations; ensure that the plant complies with environmental and workplace safety standards.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure that production meets required specifications and standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and increase productivity, using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
- Communication & Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management on production, budget, safety, and quality performance metrics.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term plans for growth and process improvements to meet company goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field- Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 experience
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily plant-based, requiring frequent interaction with production staff and equipment.
