Summary of Position:
The Plant Controller is a key leader within the plant management team, responsible for contributing to overall plant strategy, operational excellence, and financial performance within the plant's business segment. This role oversees the month-end close process, reviews balance sheet reconciliations, ensures effective controls and compliance, and leads comprehensive manufacturing financial analyses. Additionally, the position involves conducting trend analysis and submitting monthly forecasts. This is an opportunity to work closely with plant operations leaders, contributing ideas and solutions that improve plant performance and efficiency. As the right-hand partner to the Plant Manager, the Plant Controller advises on financial and operational matters to align plant activities with broader strategic goals.

Summary of Position:
The Plant Controller is a key leader within the plant management team, responsible for contributing to overall plant strategy, operational excellence, and financial performance within the plant's business segment. This role oversees the month-end close process, reviews balance sheet reconciliations, ensures effective controls and compliance, and leads comprehensive manufacturing financial analyses. Additionally, the position involves conducting trend analysis and submitting monthly forecasts. This is an opportunity to work closely with plant operations leaders, contributing ideas and solutions that improve plant performance and efficiency. As the right-hand partner to the Plant Manager, the Plant Controller advises on financial and operational matters to align plant activities with broader strategic goals.
Core Responsibilities:
- Generate monthly and quarterly financial forecasts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) on a timely basis.
- Lead regular financial performance reviews with the Plant Manager and plant team, analyzing performance against forecasts and budgets.
- Provide insights on key metrics impacting financial outcomes (e.g., overtime, attrition, unit cost, efficiency) to inform decision-making.
- Oversee annual and ongoing physical inventory valuations and reconciliations, ensuring alignment across financial systems.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, engaging plant and customer service leaders throughout.
- Manage accounting functions including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Ensure all fixed assets are handled in accordance with company policies.
- Influence capital project planning and conduct ROI analyses.
- Drive enhancements in accounting procedures to bolster controls, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Perform additional analyses and reporting as needed.
- Partner with the Plant Manager to identify cost-saving opportunities and track productivity and efficiency gains.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting or Finance
- 3-8 years in Finance or Accounting within a manufacturing setting
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- CPA or CMA highly preferred
- A background in public accounting preferred
