We are searching for an experienced, dynamic, and detail-oriented Plant Controller to join our leading manufacturing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial health of our manufacturing plant, overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. This role will require a keen eye for process improvement, financial analysis, and operations management.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all plant accounting and financial responsibilities, including cost accounting and month-end close processes.
2. Prepare and present financial reporting in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
3. Lead and coordinate the development and execution of the plant annual budget and forecasts.
4. Manage the preparation of all financial outlooks and financial forecasts.
5. Ensure that the plant is in compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations.
6. Work closely with operations management to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
7. Monitor capital spending; track and report on the status of capital projects.
8. Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.
9. Develop and manage financial systems and policies, and ensure procedures and practices are in compliance with company policies, applicable laws, and audit requirements.
10. Perform financial analysis, risk management, and data management duties.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. A CPA, CMA, or MBA would be a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Plant Controller, Controller, or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
3. Strong experience in cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
4. Knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
5. Proficiency in financial reporting, tax planning, and business strategy.
6. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
7. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP).
8. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
9. Excellent organizational skills with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work.
10. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to a non-financial audience.
11. Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
12. Demonstrated ability to improve processes and increase efficiency in a complex, fast-paced environment.
