Seeking an experienced Plant Controller who can drive the day to day accounting processes, internal controls, costing, and financial reporting for the company and its shareholders. As a member of the management team, you may identify as organized, analytical, and tech-savvy to contribute to the effort towards a new ERP system. Cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting are critical functions in this fast-paced environment. The Plant Controller reports to the US Director of Accounting. Position: Plant Controller
Location: Allentown, PA or Phoenix, AZ
Compensation: $110,000-$115,000
Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership and Reporting:
Manage the daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting functions including monthly financial statement presentation, annual budget preparation, lead the cycle counting and physical inventories, and coordinating year-end audit activities
Oversee the accounting related to manufacturing in compliance with U.S. GAAP
Conduct ongoing audit of transactional and master records for validity, workflow qualifications and cost impact
Provide business analysis, forecasting and budgeting for the manufacturing organization
Responsible for making recommendations for financial and operational improvements
Cost and Inventory Management:
Performing periodic costing studies on products/equipment such as cost-of-goods info
Maintain and make recommendations to improve our system of internal accounting controls as they relate to inventory and manufacturing
Internal Controls:
Implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting set forth in Delegation of Authority document
Identifying and assessing risks associated with plant operations and developing mitigation strategies
Developing ERP and process training curriculum, assessing where gaps exist and conducting training for ongoing continuous improvement
Manage analyst duties using Lean tools and SQL databases to query data for visibility
Assist in efforts to implement a new ERP system (MS D365)
Management Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and direction, developing workload assignments, monitoring activities, training, and motivating staff to perform at highest level
Document processes, systems, internal controls, and reviews against ‘Best Practices’ for operations, warehousing, distribution, and administration
Passionate about coaching and training the team; effective at setting individual and team goals which help develop team member
Some supervisory responsibilities to manager Inventory Analysts
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or similar; advanced master’s degree, preferred
5+ years of experience in a process manufacturing environment, specific to cost accounting
Firm understanding of GAAP in manufacturing environment
Knowledge of accounting statements and financial reporting experience in ERP environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software systems (i.e., Visual and MS D365)
Team player in environment to displaying a positive customer service attitude
Demonstrated experience in both high-level planning and practical implementation, highly desired
Technical analytical skills including SQL database, BI tools, ERP understanding (i.e., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Visual Mfg, MS Dynamics), preferred
CPA license, preferred
