INVO is seeking a full time Physical Therapist to provide services to students preschool-8th grade in the Gloucester Twp NJ area. The Physical Therapist will provide therapy services to students with physical disabilities, developmental delays, and motor function impairments to enhance their ability to function in the school environment. This role involves working closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) that address the physical needs of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and Evaluate: Conduct initial and ongoing evaluations of students physical abilities, including muscle strength, joint mobility, and motor development. Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans.
- Treatment Planning: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to create individualized treatment plans and interventions that align with each student's needs and goals within their educational environment.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Provide direct physical therapy services to students in individual or group settings to improve physical functioning, mobility, balance, coordination, and gross motor skills.
- IEP Participation: Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of goals and objectives for students receiving physical therapy services.
- Consultation and Training: Consult with teachers, parents, and staff to provide guidance on positioning, mobility, and adaptive equipment that will assist students in accessing the school environment. Train staff on best practices for working with students with physical disabilities.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and service delivery in accordance with state and federal regulations, including compliance with IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with occupational therapists, speech therapists, special education teachers, and other specialists to support the holistic development of students.
- Adapted Equipment: Recommend and assist in the selection of adapted physical education equipment or assistive devices for students as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Masters or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure/Certification: Must hold a current New Jersey Physical Therapy License and meet the requirements for working in public schools in NJ. (NJ DOE Certification)
- Experience: Previous experience working with children, particularly in a school setting, is preferred. Knowledge of pediatric physical therapy and special education regulations is a plus.

Work Environment:
- This position involves working in multiple school settings across the Gloucester Township School District.
