Summary
The Pharmacy Director oversees daily operations, regulatory compliance, program planning, and quality improvement within the pharmacy. This role includes training, coaching, and providing feedback to pharmacy staff while managing departmental activities to meet business goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise non-dispensing staff, including pharmacists and technicians.
- Ensure team cohesiveness and operational readiness.
- Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to align activities with the pharmacy mission.
- Assist with clinical and business-related pharmacist duties.
- Travel for meetings and conferences, including quarterly visits to the Nash location.
- Participate in recruitment and staff training.
- Conduct annual performance reviews and manage staff competencies.
- Prepare management reports and assist in budget development.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and optimize workflows.
- Provide high-quality services to home-care patients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
- Strong knowledge of specialty home infusion pharmacy.
- Supervisory experience in home infusion therapy.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Education and Experience
- R.Ph. or Doctor of Pharmacy.
- Current pharmacist license in TX or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
- 3+ years of management experience in specialty or home infusion pharmacy.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds. Must have close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Typically operates in an office setting using standard office equipment.
