Job Summary and Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY:
The CLINICAL PHARMACIST is responsible for over seeing the pharmacy services during their shift to include staffing, overview of the technical staff, maintenance of the pharmacyst and ardofpractice and adherence to the policies and procedures of the department.
POPULATION SERVED:
Core competencies will be assessed primarily on the following patient population(s) served: Preparation& dispensing forall medicationsprescribed for all conditions/illnesses for an inpatient or outpatient of this facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Reviewsand interprets physician medication orders ensuringappropriate therapy.
- Ensuresthat the compounding and dispensing of all medications isaccurateandtimely.
- Activelyparticipatesin the pharmaceutical care of the patient to promote a positive outcome.
- Other duties asassigned.
REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
- Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Texas.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
- One yearexperience as a hospital pharmacist is preferred

- Ability to learn aseptic technique
