About the Job
SUMMARY
Provide a safe, educational, and productive environment for member and their guests to exercise. Provide assistance and knowledge to members and their guests on the usage and proper techniques of fitness, health, wellness, aquatics and the latest in fitness trends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the following duties and responsibilities, other duties may be assigned:
- Building a client base that contributes to departmental revenues. Conducting new client appointments while maintaining an existing client base.
- Marketing yourself and your services in a professional manner that fulfills the Ocean Reef Club Center guidelines.
- Maintaining the fitness areas and equipment. Keeping the fitness areas clean and in excellent working condition. Arranging for any necessary equipment maintenance.
- Guiding your clients on individualized training programs. Educating clients on their needs and creating fitness goals.
- Administering fitness evaluations and assessments for client/members.
- Stay abreast of current trends in the fitness industry, taking advantage of fitness-based training and learning opportunities where possible.
- Offering client/member consultations and discussions on the Lifestyle Enhancements services offered by ORC Member Fitness Center.
- Assisting with ORC Member Fitness Center special events and programs.
- Report all incidents, complaints or suggestion on a daily basis to the Fitness Manager.
- Work cooperatively with the Fitness Manager and Director of Recreation in all aspects of ORC Fitness Centers operations.
- Be able to make appropriate decisions when the Manager is not available.
- Assist the Manager in creating revenue-generating and member service opportunities.
- Observe and take action to correct all situations at the Fitness Centers for safety.
- Consistently display the ability to deal with a discriminating clientele and provide outstanding customer service.
- Demonstrate the ORC Promise in all aspects of this positions i.e. Member service, presentation, preparation, hygiene, uniforms, etc.
- Report all incidents, complaints or suggestions on a daily basis to the Manager or Director.
- Complete a comprehensive knowledge of all emergency procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of daily work areas, seeing that both Fitness Centers are clean and orderly.
OTHER:
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Ocean Reef Club from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
In addition to performance of the essential functions this position requires a combination of the following supportive functions. These functions include assisting in covering front desk hours as needed, covering other trainers personal training sessions and/or aerobics classes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current Personal Training certification from an accredited fitness organization.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years personal training experience with a discerning clientele base preferred.
Water Safety/ Aquatic Instructor Certification
CPR/ First Aid
LANGUAGE
Individual must be able to speak and comprehend English to communicate with members and guests.

Attendance, Appearance and Conduct:

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry and report deadlines, associate may be required to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of the Club and report deadlines.
Proper grooming is required by all associates and is described in detail in the Associates Handbook. Associates should review this policy and make sure that at all times they present themselves for shifts looking clean, neat and professional.
As a condition of employment, all associates agree to fully comply with Ocean Reef Club rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of Club facilities. Associates who violate Club rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
