Position Description
Monex USA is looking for a People Officer to lead our human resources (HR) department and culture-building efforts. The People Officer is responsible for a variety of tasks, including coordinating and overseeing all HR functions. In addition, the position works closely with executives and outside contractors in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing HR Company policies, programs, functions and activities.

Position Description
Monex USA is looking for a People Officer to lead our human resources (HR) department and culture-building efforts. The People Officer is responsible for a variety of tasks, including coordinating and overseeing all HR functions. In addition, the position works closely with executives and outside contractors in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing HR Company policies, programs, functions and activities.
Responsibilities:
People Strategy
- Responsible for all aspects of Human Resources in the US and Canada, including but not limited to, Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, Offboarding, Benefits, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Retention, Payroll, some aspects of Training, Learning, and Development and other functions (as discussed with management).
- Set a strong vision for Monex USA and Monex Canada related to:
- the Human Resources functions, and
- Culture building
- Take responsibility for Canada and USA Payroll.
- Develop and maintain a hiring plan for all departments extending out 12 months and adjust as needed with close coordination with department heads.
- Work with in-house and outside recruiters to hire the best suited staff to help reach company goals.
- Manage a staff of appropriate size (currently 2-3 people), hiring and training replacements as needed.
- Actively participate in building and fostering a culture of success and growth, both personal and business, including multiple offices and remote employees (includes Monex USA and Monex Canada).
- Coach department heads on the proper setting and maintaining of quarterly or semi-annual goals for each employee.
- Help populate, update, and optimize any HR-related internal and external (hiring/recruiting) materials and properties, both offline and digital.
- Oversee all aspects of the employee experience
- Create and maintain an employee onboarding process that provides the very best onboarding experience.
- Proactively and creatively manage employee retention and engagement.
- Assist with coordinating learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal engagement and development opportunities for employees.
- Encourage management to create and update succession plans for all key roles.
- Determine training or other activities needed to continuously improve management skills, thereby affecting culture.
- Excellent strengthening decision making and expertise.
- Foster an environment of positivity, trust, and inclusivity such that employees are confident in bringing issues to HR.
- Work with department heads to enhance productivity and profitability by optimizing employee performance
- Exhibit a proactive approach in identifying team department needs and challenges.
- Proven experience in benefits administration, including a deep understanding of various employee benefits programs, along with hands-on expertise in mapping and configuring benefits within HRIS systems.
- Work with outside contractors as needed in the following areas:
- Keep policies, procedures and the employee handbook updated.
- Update knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, and employment law.
- Actively track trends in compensation and benefits, and ensure competitive base and incentive pay programs to help attract and retain top talent for the company.

- Bachelor’s Degree
- SHRM-CP
- 8 years of HR experience
- 5 years of HR management experience
- Excellent communications and decision-making skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a sense of pride in your work
- Positive and enthusiastic demeanor
- Strategic thinking
- Experience handling multi-state payroll in the US plus and Canada
- Benefits administration experience
- Approaches work interactions with a mature, professional, respectful, and confidential manner.
- Exemplifies strong organizational, communication, analytical, and project management skills.
- Demonstrates understanding for employees by actively listening to their concerns, fostering a supportive environment.
- Demonstrated successful implementation of new HRIS system.
- Master's degree
- SHRM California Law HR Specialty Credential

- Salary is commensurate with experience. The annual salary range is $130,000 to $150,000.
