Peer Support Specialist - Outreach
Full Time | Day Shift | 8am-4pm | Monday-Friday
** Pay rate up to $15/hr; based on experience **
Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is currently seeking a Peer Support Specialist - Outreach for Faith Mission in Fairfield County. Faith Mission is one of the largest homeless shelters in our area providing meals and shelter to men, women and Veterans with dignity and compassion.

What will I do as a Peer Support Specialist - Outreach with Lutheran Social Services?
- Conduct street outreach in the community and on-site intake assessments in partnership with the Outreach Specialist
- Conduct VI-SPDAT assessments for housing and Coordinated Entry (CE) assessments.
- Link clients to services including, but not limited to: AOD treatment, harm reduction, resources and supports, mental health and medical services, employment/benefits, etc.
- Assist clients with obtaining documentation necessary for housing, employment, etc.
- Establish and maintain empathetic, non-judgmental relationships with clients and provide assertive outreach to engage clients when necessary.
- Build partnerships and work with community stakeholders and agencies
- Attend trainings as required to promote ongoing professional growth and development.
Requirements for a Peer Support Specialist - Outreach with Lutheran Social Services:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Certified Peer Support Specialist required.
- Prior experience working with the homeless and/or the AOD/Mental Health population preferred.
- Valid Ohio driver's license, access to reliable insured transportation and ability to meet LSS insurance standards required.
