GA Telesis is seeking a Payroll Specialist, responsible for assisting with processing and managing employee payrolls accurately and on time. This role ensures compliance with all relevant tax laws and labor regulations, maintains payroll records, and handles inquiries related to compensation. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of payroll practices and regulations. This position reports directly to the Payroll & Benefits Manager but also works closely with the Vice President and Controller.
Responsibilities
GA Telesis is seeking a Payroll Specialist, responsible for assisting with processing and managing employee payrolls accurately and on time. This role ensures compliance with all relevant tax laws and labor regulations, maintains payroll records, and handles inquiries related to compensation. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of payroll practices and regulations. This position reports directly to the Payroll & Benefits Manager but also works closely with the Vice President and Controller.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees, including salaried, hourly, and contract staff.
- Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions accurately.
- Ensure timely and accurate distribution of paychecks or direct deposits.
- Assist with audits and provide payroll reports to management as needed
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee information, tax exemptions, benefits, and deductions.
- Prepare and submit payroll-related tax filings, including W-2s, 1099s, and other required forms.
- Update records for new hires, terminations, and employee changes in status or pay
- Address employee payroll-related questions and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with People Operations and Finance to manage benefits, retirement plans, and leave accruals.
- Associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, Bachelor’s degree a plus.
- 3 years of payroll administration experience.
- Knowledge of payroll procedures and tax regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with highest confidentiality.
- Experience with payroll software (ADP) preferred.
