We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team in the Construction industry. This is a permanent position that offers a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for an individual with a strong background in payroll within the construction field. With over 3 years of relevant experience, the ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of payroll processes, tax procedures, and labor laws. If you are a detail-oriented professional with excellent numerical skills and a knack for accurate data processing, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the entire payroll process for our construction personnel, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
2. Administer fringe benefits, ensuring they are correctly calculated, distributed, and recorded.
3. Handle Certified Payroll and Union Payroll, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
4. Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
5. Resolve any payroll discrepancies and answer employee queries about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records.
6. Coordinate with HR and Accounting departments to facilitate smooth payroll operations.
7. Stay updated with the latest changes in labor laws and tax regulations.
8. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of payroll operations.
9. Ensure the confidentiality and security of payroll data.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field PREFERRED, not required.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in fringe benefits, Certified Payroll, and Union Payroll.
4. Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
5. Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
6. Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and payroll software systems.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to work under pressure.
9. In-depth knowledge of applicable labor laws and tax regulations.
10. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
