Position Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Manager to oversee our payroll processes and ensure accurate and timely compensation for 5 locations.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll management, accounting, and human resources, along with proficiency in relevant software systems.
- This role is crucial in maintaining compliance with financial regulations and providing exceptional service to our workforce.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Oversee and manage the payroll process for multiple sites, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing for all employees.
- Analyze payroll data and prepare reports for management review.
- Oversee benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Conduct account reconciliation to ensure all payroll-related accounts are balanced.
- Develop, implement, and maintain payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution, ensuring compliance across all locations.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll processes and records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the human resources department to address employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
- Maintain payroll software, ensuring it is updated and configured for each site s specific requirements.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay updated on financial concepts and regulatory changes impacting payroll practices.
- Train and mentor payroll staff to foster a high-performance team environment.
Supervisory Scope
- Site payroll administrators will report directly to the Site Functional leaders with a dotted line to Payroll Manager.
- Hiring and performance assessment will be the joint responsibility of the Payroll Manager and Functional Leader.
- Hybrid office schedule
- Occasional travel to job sites as required.
- May require extended hours during peak payroll cycles, year-end close, etc.
- Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting or a related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of payroll software and systems (UKG PRO)
- 10+ years experience in payroll within a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Professional certification in payroll (e,g., CPP, FPC) is a plus
- Proficiency in processing payroll accurately and efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure accuracy in payroll calculations and data entry
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze payroll data and generate reports.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and management
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws, including tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirements.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles as they relate to payroll processing and financial reporting.
- Ability to analyze data and solve complex problems
- Ability to lead, mentor and influence others
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
