Job Summary:
The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll and maintaining employee time records with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations and provides support to the Human Resources department by performing various payroll-related tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, and a commitment to delivering excellent service to our employees. This position is crucial in supporting our workforce and contributing to the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility.
Job Location:
This position is 100% on-site and requires flexibility and availability to travel out of state for several weeks of training.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Payroll Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Enter, maintain, and process information in the HRIS system, including employee hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, time worked, paid leave, holidays, deductions, address changes, and other relevant data.
- Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
- Reconcile payroll records.
- Issue or reissue physical checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharges.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Human Resources department.
Payroll Coordinator Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in payroll processing for large organizations with hourly employees.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Associate Degree in Finance or equivalent experience.
- Three to five years of payroll experience.
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience with Ceridian/Dayforce.
- Experience handling payroll for 1,000+ employeesisa plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
