Payroll & Accounting Specialist
T. Steele Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll & Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing payroll, accounts receivable, and compliance. The ideal candidate thrives on digging into the details and has a solid understanding of accounting practices tailored to diverse business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll for four entities, including handling payroll liabilities such as taxes, garnishments, and benefits.
- Act as the accounts receivable lead for multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate processes.
- Oversee and manage purchase orders across all entities.
- Complete invoicing and vendor statement reviews promptly.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and manage IFTA payments.
- Provide backup support to the Controller as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration (with an emphasis in Accounting), or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting or finance.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop is required.
- Familiarity with Account Links is preferred.
- Experience in construction or manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, or process-related work is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and planning skills.
- Ability to collaborate with and take direction from multiple leaders within the company.
