Accounting Manager Opportunity Summary:
Accounting Manager - Credit/Accounts Receivable/Cash responsibility is to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the financial records of the company, specifically related to AR and Cash. This position will manage customers' credit accounts and collect monies owed to the company under the company's credit policy.
Job Duties:
- Manage the credit team to ensure support, direction, and vision are provided on customers' credit accounts and collections.
- Manage review of credit applications and customer account status.
- Manage the collection of all receivables and work with Customer Support Centers on disputed invoices and/or problem accounts.
- Manage delinquent accounts considered to be uncollectible to ensure maximum efforts have been taken before assigning bad debt or a reserve status to the account.
- Approves and coordinates special payment arrangements.
- Manage delinquent and/or problem accounts as appropriate when legal action becomes necessary.
- Manage payments received and are properly applied to outstanding invoices.
- Adjusts and/or reconciles customer account statements as necessary.
- Manage the accounting results specific to Credit, Accounts Receivable, Warranties, and Cash to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of the financial results of the company.
- Supervise Staff Accountants.
- Balance sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
- Make monthly journal entries & support the monthly closing process.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations to support GL balances.
- Perform various analyses on the income statement and balance sheet accounts.
- Provide monthly reporting analysis to the business to support accounts & accruals (aging, etc.).
- Yearly support of the Audit process.
Work Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A) from a four-year college or university in accounting or finance; CPA (preferred) or 5+ years of accounting and supervising experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with accounting software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
