About the Job
The Patient Financial Services (PFS) Manager trains and manages all Admissions, Collections, Community Wide Scheduling and Business Office Department staff under the direction of the Controller. This includes, the manager will coordinate all activity needed to ensure that all patient and insurance information are gathered to facilitate prompt, accurate billing. The PFS Manager will coordinate activities with other departments not limited to Case Management, Patient Accounting, Information Systems and Nursing. The PFS Manager will lead new initiatives including new software systems and processes. The PFS Manager will assist with establishing and reviewing department goals in order to be consistent with hospital wide plans as well as developing policies and procedures to support them. The PFS Manager will manage the department in a cost-effective manner. Other responsibilities include time and attendance, participation in various committees as assigned by the Director. This includes but is not limited to, all billing and claims processing activities and account follow up/resolution, data entry of payment, adjustments, and denials from third party payers; cashiering, financial assistance, and customer service. The PFS Manager will coordinate with Case Management, Medical Information, and ancillary departments as necessary for claim completion and resolution of claim errors and denials. The Manager will monitor and ensure resolution of remit posting issues and enhancements to both the MEDITECH and SSI systems to improve functionality and efficiency in claim submission and payment processing, with assistance from Support Services Analyst. Other responsibilities may include time and attendance, participation in various committees and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years work experience as Business Office Supervisor or Manager in a healthcare facility.
Other education and experience may be substituted (if applicable) for the required minimum job qualifications with the approval of the Chief Human Resources Officer
