THE BASICS
Pay: If you are passionate about baking and aspire to create exceptional pastries and baked goods, this full-time position offers a competitive starting salary of $55,000 - $75,000/year, along with bonuses and benefits based on experience.
Schedule: The Pastry Baker will be required to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as necessary. This role demands adaptability in a fast-paced kitchen environment and a commitment to excellence during each shift.

YOUR DAY AS A PASTRY BAKER
In your role as a Pastry Baker, you will begin each day by preparing a wide variety of high-quality baked goods, including breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and desserts, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards. You will also take the lead in executing a diverse menu featuring artisanal flatbreads, fresh salads, and handheld items, with a focus on flavor, presentation, and consistency. Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to innovate by designing and testing new recipes that align with customer preferences and current trends. Your responsibilities will include managing ingredient inventory to ensure freshness and quality across all menu items, collaborating with suppliers to source premium ingredients while managing costs effectively. You will oversee quality control for all products, maintaining consistency in taste and appearance. Additionally, your leadership will be instrumental as you supervise and train junior staff, ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, and respond to customer requests with professionalism.
REQUIREMENTS FOR A PASTRY BAKER
- 2+ years of professional baking or pastry experience
- Experience preparing artisanal flatbreads and savory handhelds
- Proficiency with pastry preparation and savory culinary techniques
- Strong creativity with the ability to innovate and design visually appealing and flavorful dishes
- Attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork, leadership, and communication abilities
- Physical ability to work on your feet for extended periods and lift heavy supplies
A culinary degree or specialized training in baking and pastry arts is preferred.
