Job Description
Peterson Cat has an immediate need for an experienced Parts Salesperson at our Redding, CA location.
SUMMARY
The Parts Salesperson II is responsible for providing outstanding service to Peterson customers including walk-in, over-the-phone, and internet orders by researching, pricing, locating, and timely follow-up.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Provide “Customer First” experience via phone by understanding customer needs and exceeding their expectations.
Make high value recommendations to customers relating to parts, through proactive selling.
Maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with established customers and develop new customers.
Actively participates as a ‘user’ of Five9 Call Center software.
Actively participates in all team meetings.
Maintain a working knowledge of company products, services, and parts including their price value relationships.
Complete all necessary transaction documents in a timely and accurate manner.
Follow up with customers on parts sourcing and the estimated ship dates and arrival of back ordered parts.
Supports customer activation goals with parts.cat.com.
Leverages ‘marketing’ campaigns to contact prospective customers and upsell parts-related opportunities. Research, recommend, and provide pricing for parts to external customers, and internal customers as needed.
Maintain current reference material as needed to supplement company information databases, for example, Peterson Information Folder.
Stay current on all assigned training materials. Request additional training, as needed.
Communicate customer needs to the appropriate Machine Sales, Product Support and/or Inside Sales Representatives.
Assist in other department activities as assigned by the supervisor.
Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers/ coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in parts or sales, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The pay range for this position is: $29.00 - $33.00. (Starting wage will depend on experience and education) We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.
