Southern Auto Group is now actively recruiting an Inventory Clerk for our Parts Department. The ideal Inventory Clerk will have at least one to two years of experience in a position of similar responsibility, and we'll be happy to help you get adjusted along the way! Some of the things that you may already know or learn are:
ADP Experience
Processing DX paperwork
GM Experience preferred*
ADP schedule - maintenance cleaning
Reconciliation of daily deposits - cash handling experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilizes scanner system for SORs, inventory, and bins
- Places daily parts orders
- Stocks and posts incoming orders
- Helps Parts Manager process stock orders and SORs
- Notifies appropriate parties when special order parts arrive with logging sheets along with notation on back order parts with ETA
- Helps Parts Manager with inventory functions as needed
- Helps provide coverage for Parts Staff during lunch breaks and/or high volume times
- Tracks inventory purchased in bulk to ensure supply is on hand for daily business
- Orders supplies needed for Service Department (i.e., seat covers)
- Provides necessary information to the warranty administrator to allow prompt filing of parts warranties and scrap parts daily, to include cores returns
- Ensures that credits are received for returned parts from OEM and all vendors we deal with on a daily basis
- Maintains a filing system for packing slips, invoices, and credits to include all parts that we have billed, but not received
- Files claims with OEM for shortage and/or damaged parts on a daily process
- Returns parts as needed and removes from inventory after credit is received or picked up with documentation
- Returns cores in a timely manner, daily for customer pay, and holds warranty claims for 15 days and follows up for receipt of credit
- Matches purchase orders and invoices on daily process, to include posting to Pad
- Files company copies of parts counter invoices on a daily basis
- Helps prepare for annual parts inventory, performing daily bin checks
- Helps Parts Manager with Monthly Reconciliation
- Helps with parts returns to OEM and Vendors
- Helps with Parts Department telephone coverage
- Helps counter people with check, insurance, and credit card processing when possible
- Keeps parts area clean and uncluttered and organized
- Maintains a professional appearance
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- One year of administrative experience at a minimum
- One year of experience handling money in a retail environment
- Skilled at using accounting software
- Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment
- An impressive work ethic
- Strong communication, presentation and writing skills
- Strong computer and internet skills
- Neat, clean, and professional appearance
