Job Summary: The Early Childhood Teacher Assistant will support the lead teacher in providing a warm, child-centered, and play-based learning environment that is grounded in Jewish values. As a team member, you will help create an inclusive and nurturing environment where young children can learn, grow, and explore.

Responsibilities/Requirements of the Position:
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities that promote young children's physical, social-emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Help create a warm, loving environment where children feel safe and comfortable exploring their interests and ideas.
- Foster a sense of community and connection by modeling and teaching Jewish values. Teach and embrace the Jewish holidays through invitations to play, food, music, and art.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to create a curriculum responsive to each child's individual needs and interests.
- Assist with the preparation of materials and the maintenance of a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents and families about their child's progress and any concerns or questions they may have.
- Documentation is an essential aspect of what we do. Documenting the children’s thought and learning processes is essential to value their growth. We use this process to plan for their needs using their interests as an engine for their motivation.
- Open communication is essential to building community, respect, and teamwork.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills as an early childhood educator. Some training as well as school events might take place after school hours.
- Must be available to attend meetings, in-service or outside trainings required of this position that may/may not be during working hours.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, and reach with hands and arms.
- Work in a fast-paced environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
Qualifications:
- Has completed 45 hours DCF minimum requirements or is in the process of completing the hours. We can assist with this requirement.
- CDA and/or Staff Credential from Department of Education, State of Florida, Tallahassee, preferred.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Education is preferred but not required.
- An Early Childhood Education Degree is a BIG PLUS, but not required.
- Minimum one-year experience in Early Childhood education or care.
- Must have the ability to speak and communicate in the English language. Proficiency in written English a plus.
- CPR / First Aid Training certification (PREFERRED).
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and to maintain positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Must be able to use computer for communication and instruction.
- Must be medically and physically able to lift or carry between 20 to 50 pounds.
