Part-time Physician (Advance Endoscopy Gastroenterology) at our Manhattan Campus - Department of Veteran Affairs

The Department of Veterans Affairs NY Harbor Healthcare System is seeking a Part-time Physician (Advance Endoscopy Gastroenterology) at our Manhattan Campus.  The position requires outstanding clinical, teaching, and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities will include the provision of comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care to patients with GI disorders, participation in the inpatient Gastroenterology consultation service, supervision of Gastroenterology fellows, and participation in multi-disciplinary and multi-facility Tumor Boards. We are a major teaching affiliate of State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, and the successful candidate will be appointed at SUNY Downstate at an academic level commensurate with experience.

Salary: $350,000- $400,000

Education and length of practice are considered through a formal pay-setting process to determine the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay)

Basic Requirements:

• United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
• Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
• Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
• Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
• Board Certification/ Eligible in the specialty/sub-specialty indicated in the announcement.
