Part Time Physician Assistant - Integrated Wound Care

About the Job
Integrated Wound Care (IWC) provides consultant-based wound healing services to skilled nursing, long term care, and rehabilitation facilities. IWC works with the nursing home staff and residents on a team approach to client care, including a focused exam on patient wound(s).
We are looking for an administrative/medical PA who is self-motivated but able to work in a team environment in an actively growing national company. The PA's responsibilities will include:
- active medical licenses in area (IWC will pay for any additional licenses as needed and will help obtain said licenses)
- Administrative duties including an active rapport with facilities serviced by IWC on the east coast and with our providers covering said facilities
- PA will cover Nursing Homes on an as needed basis where IWC facilities/providers require coverage- Travel involved- Expenses incurred covered by IWC
- PA will work M-F – NO weekend hours. NO overnight call
- PA will have training provided under auspices of Medical Director to gain full Wound Care Knowledge including diagnosing, treatments, and bedside debridement's
- PA will round in Nursing Home's as a consultant for IWC
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with facility staff to develop and implement wound care programs
- Act as a consultant to facility staff on all aspects of wound care management
- Conduct assessments and evaluations of patients with complex wounds
- Provide training and education to facility staff regarding wound care best practices and emerging treatments
- Participate in wound care rounds with facility staff and provide recommendations for treatment plans
- Monitor wound healing progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed
- Serve as an expert resource for facility staff regarding wound care related questions and concerns
Requirements
- Current Physician Assistant License
- Wound care certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in wound care management
- Strong knowledge of wound care management practices and standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Willingness to travel 2-3 days per week
