Are you a seasoned Paralegal with a passion for justice and a deep understanding of the law? We are in search of a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This is a full-time, permanent position that will provide you with an opportunity to work on diverse and challenging cases, contribute to our mission of providing top-notch legal services, and grow professionally in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
As a Paralegal, your role will be multi-faceted and integral to our team. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial. This includes conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and preparing for depositions and court proceedings.
2. Coordinating the collection, review, and production of discovery documents, ensuring all are handled in accordance with firm standards and legal compliance.
3. Managing case calendars, including keeping track of deadlines, scheduling appointments, and coordinating logistics for court appearances.
4. Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, providing them with regular case updates and addressing their questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
5. Collaborating with the legal team to develop case strategies, analyze legal issues, and identify key evidence.
6. Conducting medical malpractice (Medmal) research and assisting in the preparation of Medmal cases.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Paralegal, with a focus on litigation and Medmal cases.
2. A Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program. A Bachelor's degree in a related field will be considered an asset.
3. Proficiency in legal research tools and software, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
4. Strong understanding of legal terminology, court rules and procedures, and the litigation process.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from attorneys, clients, and the general public.
6. Exceptional organizational skills, with a proven ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
7. High level of discretion and confidentiality for clients and firm matters.
8. A proactive approach and the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
9. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
