Intelligence Federal seeks a Paralegal to support a federal government agency. Our ideal candidate is experienced with paralegal methods and procedures, people-focused, a team player, and attentive to our client's needs. This particular role requires previous experience performing document review and litigation preparation.
This is a full-time position and eligible for benefits through our company for the duration of the contract, which is approximately one (1) year. Intelligence Federal was recently named one of the Best Places to Work in 2024 by the Washington Business Journal.
Location: Fully remote
Responsibilities May Include:
- Analyze and evaluate case files against litigation worthiness standards
- Conduct research for the preparation of legal opinions on matters of interest to federal agency
- Review and analyze available precedents relevant to cases under consideration for use in presenting case summaries to trial attorneys
- Interview relevant personnel and potential witnesses to gather information
- Note and correct case file deficiencies (e.g. missing documents, inconsistent material, leads not investigated) before sending the case on to the trial attorney
- Gather, sort, classify, and interpret data to discover patterns
- Review and analyze relevant statistics for cases
- Consult with statistical experts on reliability evaluations
Security/Clearance Level:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
- Must be able to pass a Public Trust level background investigation
- Though the role is remote, all work must be performed within the United States
Requirements
- MUST have strong experience with one of the following: Class Action Lawsuits, E-Discovery, or litigation support
- Requires an associates degree or Paralegal Certification and 2 years of experience, OR a bachelor's degree and 1+ year of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Paralegal methods, practices, and procedures.
- Proficient in litigation discovery software and MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Adobe PDF.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work well within groups handling large volume of work.
- Ability to work independently.
