What you'll do on a typical day:
- Manage receipt and tracking of monthly reports from external counsel
- Analyze and create reports for business partners summarizing status of legal matters and legal trends
- Lead gathering of information for discovery - review legal claims and interact independently with internal and external counsel and human resources and operations partners to provide background information and documents related to legal claims and provide introductions between external counsel and GXO employees
- Assist in the drafting, tracking, and processing of severance agreements
- Assist in the drafting, tracking, and delivery of WARN and other employee notification letters
- Gather documents responsive to subpoenas and requests for personnel files including from People Services, OnBase, and site locations; review for completeness prior to distribution to requesting party
- Draft and send various correspondence related to legal matters
- Track and manage information related to legal settlements including ensuring that settlement checks are delivered accurately and timely
- Request settlement checks and send to external counsel or to opposing counsel/opposing party directly
- Assist with miscellaneous administrative duties such as processing of invoices in Legal Tracker, travel arrangements, and expense reports
- Manage calendar and agenda of legal review meetings with various HR stakeholder groups and attend various meetings
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
- 1-3 years' experience supporting legal team
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task effectively; able to adapt to changing priorities
- Team player, people person, personable and engaging
- Excellent communication skills: ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization
- Exercise significant discretion with confidential information, data, and matters
- Experience with Windows Applications and skilled in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Legal Tracker, SharePoint, and miscellaneous internal systems
- Ability to think strategically, work independently, make recommendations for process improvement, and drive matters to conclusion
- Associates Degree (AA/AS); or 2 year technical certificate
