- Serve under the supervision of the Program Supervisor/Manager or her/his designee to carry out assigned duties relating to the planning, ordering, storing, preparing and serving of food.
- Keeps a running inventory of all food.
- Plan menus one week in advance.
- Prepare a weekly food order for review and use to purchase food based on the weekly menu.
- Maintain kitchen, clean utensils and food storage areas, maintain food in a safe and hygienic manner.
- Prepare and serve adequate, timely and nutritionally sound meals according to an assigned schedule.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and supervisory conferences as required.
- Provide written reports as required.
- Attend and participate in staff training opportunities as required.

- Commitment to Association philosophy.
- Must possess a Food Safety Certification for Food Handlers.
- TB test required.
- Able to plan, prepare and serve a variety of adequate, nutritionally sound and appetizing meals in a hygienic and economical manner.
- Computer literate.
- Dependable and mature. Prior knowledge of corrections system a plus
- Ability to communicate orally in the English language or other language as may be specified, with clients, agencies, and the public and in group and face-to-face, one-on-one settings.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other employees, clients, and the public.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited information exists.
- The employee in this position is often required to lift up to 25lbs., stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, use fingers, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
- Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license, must have use of an insured vehicle, and have a satisfactory driving record. Successful background, driving record, and criminal record clearances required at hire and/or at random in the future. Employment, position applicable educational and credentialing validation also required at hire.
