Job Title: PKI Administrator
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid Remote)
Contract Type: W2
Contract Length: 12+ months
Overview:
- Join our Data Encryption team as a contractor, bringing your technical expertise and leadership to implement and manage Private Public Key Infrastructures (PKI). This role will also expand to include support and maintenance of Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
Responsibilities:
- Manage PKI components onsite.
- Develop and execute plans and strategies for certificate lifecycle management, service continuity, and risk processes.
- Ensure PKI security practices, policies, and procedures comply with industry standards.
- Design, implement, and support PKI and certificate lifecycle management, including new implementations, upgrades, proactive monitoring, and log analysis.
- Maintain documentation such as policies, procedures, event reconciliation, training, and communications.
- Oversee daily operational management of functional processes and project delivery.
- Provide on-call support once a month after regular business hours.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of asymmetric cryptography concepts and technologies.
- Experience with PKI systems.
- Proficiency in managing, configuring, and operating HSMs.
- Experience in Windows and Linux Server systems support and administration.
- Skilled in system and application-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Leadership, strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving, innovation, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in communicating with and influencing senior leaders.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent assignments with attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and dedicated, capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with Encryption Key Management.
- Familiarity with VMs and physical server configuration.
- Knowledge of security frameworks, standards, guidelines, and best practices (e.g., PCI, ISO, COBIT, FFIEC, SOX).
Education & Certifications:
- 3 years of experience in the cybersecurity industry or a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
- Professional security certification preferred (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Sec+, etc.).
