About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Step Down **Job Duration:** 13 Weeks (Options for 13 or 16 weeks) **Shift:** Night Shift, 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 or 48 hours **Experience:** Minimum 1.5 years experience in Step Down or Progressive Care Unit, with some Level 1 or 2 experience preferred. Travel experience is also preferred. **License:** Any state RN license is acceptable; compact license is now accepted. **Certifications:** - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - IV Start - NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Cardiac drip titration **Must-Have:** - Experience with EPIC software - Ability to pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting - Availability to work every other weekend and holiday - Completion of lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam within 72 hours of signing the contract - Navy Blue Scrubs **Job Description:** - Manage pre and post-operative open-heart procedures including CABG, valve replacements, mitral clip & TAVR, thoracotomy, and related lung cases such as pneumothorax and hemothorax. - Provide advanced cardiac care with continuous telemetry monitoring. - Participate in the fitting process for N95 masks unless a PAP respirator is needed. - Be the first to float to other medically appropriate assignments or to support the nursing care team when necessary. - Potential floating assignments to various campus units which might include high-risk respiratory units or COVID units. - Complete 18 to 24 hours of modules during orientation, and up to 8 additional hours annually. - Modules are self-reported by the nurse to the manager.
