Business Development Representative
Territory: Lowcountry of South Carolina
Compensation: Salary of $75k plus commissions and bonuses. $100k potential first year.

Position Summary:
The Business Development Representative (“BDR”) identifies, cultivates, and stewards contributors to SCRA’s $12 million Industry Partnership Fund (“IPF”), which is SCRA’s primary source of annual operating revenues. These contributions enable significant tax advantages. The BDR uses relationship-building best practices, sales skills, and business acumen to advocate the value proposition of the IPF to and build and maintain relationships with individual contributors, organizational contributors, CPAs, and other business advisors.
Essential Functions:
Identification, Cultivation, New Business Development, and Stewardship (Weighted 90%)
Meets or exceeds personal annual contribution revenue target set by the manager by:
Documents and shares contributor activity using the Customer Relationship Management system and other provided tools.
Qualifications:
Primarily on the road throughout the territory, calling on existing and prospective contributors and advisors

Identification, Cultivation, New Business Development, and Stewardship (Weighted 90%)
Meets or exceeds personal annual contribution revenue target set by the manager by:
- Establishing new IPF contributors in their territory by planning and organizing efforts to identify, cultivate, and develop potential contributors, including businesses, individuals, and advisors through visits, networking, LinkedIn, outreach, and other forms of direct contact.
- Ensuring recurring IPF contributions by planning and organizing efforts to steward existing contributor relationships.
- Conducts research to identify prospective contributors and to maintain current information about existing contributors
- Attends, participates in, and presents during meetings, events, and conferences with existing and potential contributors
- Stays abreast of IPF contributors and market trends
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge of the IPF by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies and cohorts.
Documents and shares contributor activity using the Customer Relationship Management system and other provided tools.
Qualifications:
- Five-plus years of sales, and/or account management experience
- Excellent identification and prospecting skills with ability to build and maintain prospect pipeline
- Excellent relationship-building and stewardship skills
- Expertise in conducting in-person engagement calls throughout the business day
- Displays outstanding customer service and follow-through
- Experience interacting successfully with C-suite executives and other business leaders
- Ability to exercise good judgment, make ethical decisions, and use discretion in interactions with contributors, advisors, employees, and others
- Exhibits professional verbal and written skills
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel independently by auto in the Lowcountry of SC
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred but not required)
