About the Job
Wound, ostomy, and continence nursing is a multifaceted, evidence-based specialty practice incorporating a unique body of knowledge to provide excellence in prevention, health, maintenance, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitative nursing care to persons with select disorder of the gastrointestinal (GI), genitourinary (GU), and integumentary systems. This specialty encompasses the care of patients across the continuum of care from pediatric to geriatric populations. While serving a pivotal role in direct patient care, they also serve as educators, researchers, and consultants to achieve positive patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- SC RN license required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years clinical experience preferred.
- Previous experience caring for chronic wounds and a sound knowledge base of diabetes, arterial/vascular disease, surgical and trauma wounds preferred.
ADN candidates must be enrolled in a BSN program within 18 months from date of hire and are required to obtain BSN within four (4) years of date of hire. For current AnMed Health Associate Degree Nurses (ADN) who were hired as RNs prior to January 1, 2013, and already working as an acute care Staff Nurse as of that date, the requirement to obtain BSN within four (4) years will be waived.
