About the Job
The following outlines the core responsibilities of a Technical Administrator - Oracle Database Administrator. All in this role should have an awareness of each item and when asked, with assistance be able to complete each item. All in this role should be able to complete the majority of items listed without assistance.
- The ability to build and maintain the issuances for the Oracle database client software installation
- The ability to define/understand once defined and manage the database processes and provide feedback to enhance the database processes
- The ability to work with Oracle Support on Oracle Service Requests
- The ability to troubleshooting problems
- The ability to create and support environments and databases for business application product teams.
- The ability to enable backup/recovery jobs and execute backup/recovery when needed using DataGuard and OEM
- The ability to perform a database refresh when required.
- The ability to monitor performance and space for application databases
- The ability to monitor performance of all Engineered System environments, Exadata and Exadata Cloud@Customer.
- The ability to complete any State Farm Infrastructure changes to the environment, including any tasks with IaaS Server patches and Data Center Network changes.
- The ability to complete any Risk and Compliance findings
- The ability to perform the tasks associated with hardware installations and/or migrations
- The ability to perform the tasks associated with patching/maintenance of the Engineered Systemsm Exadata and Exadata Cloud@Customer.
- The ability to define/understand once defined the Version Management Plan for the database tools utilized and the Engineered Systems
- The ability to utilize Oracle Enterprise Management (OEM) for monitoring, scheduling backups, discovering targets, etc.
- The ability to define/understand once defined the Capacity Management Plan
- The ability to tune/optimize the Virtual Clusters residing on the Engineered Systems, Exadata and Exadata Cloud @ Customer.
- The ability to perform the tasks associated with Disaster Recovery/High Availability
- The ability to educate Business Partners on how their application interacts with Oracle Databases and the Environment
- The ability to define/understand once defined the Database Version Management Plan
- The ability to perform database migrations
- The ability to enable theDatabase Strategies(Encryption (TDE, Oracle Key Vault, Multi-Tenant)
- The ability to understand OCPU Utilization needed to ensure the environment is appropriately utilized.
- The ability to understand and utilize Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to perform database functions.
- The ability to perform SCP files from 1 server to another
- The ability to perform SFTP files from 1 server to another
