The New England Eye Center (NEEC) in Boston, MA is seeking a full-time optometrist to join our department. NEEC is part of Tufts Medical Center (TMC), the principal teaching hospital of the Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM). TMC is one of the hospitals of Tufts Medicine health system and provides care for patients across Massachusetts and New England.
Responsibilities would involve providing the full scope of comprehensive eye care, including contact lenses (both cosmetic and therapeutic), within a multi-disciplinary setting. The position requires a commitment to excellence in clinical care, strong communication skills in patient care, and strong interpersonal skills in working with other faculty, staff, administration, and students.
Who you are:
- Doctor of optometry
- Completion of optometric residency preferred
- Enthusiasm in building a busy clinical practice in medical optometry, including contact lenses/specialty contact lenses
- Commitment to student education and interest in teaching, lecturing, and mentoring
- Board certified in optometry, must possess MA license
- State of MA glaucoma certification required

We facilitate over 90,000 ambulatory care visits a year and perform over 8,000 surgeries a year, providing diagnosis and treatment in all subspecialties of Ophthalmology including cataracts, corneal disorders, refractive disorders, glaucoma, oculo-facial plastic and orbital disorders, and vitreoretinal disorders. Diagnosis and monitoring of treatment are facilitated by over seventy state-of-the-art ophthalmic devices. Together, we provide superb ophthalmic care for our patients.
