Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, weekly rotating shift (6a-2p, 9a-5p, 2p-10p), and every 5th weekend rotation. The position is subject to weekend call duty, odd, extended hours, or nights.
Position Purpose:
Located in the Breckenridge office. This position is responsible for receiving and inputting data submissions from train crews, customers, foreign railroads, and other sources into RRVW’s car tracking database.
Principal Accountabilities:
- This job entails investigating and helping to resolve issues with customers and train crews.
- Duties include supplying train crews with the necessary information to perform their duties, handling railcars in the computer system (data entry), tracking/tracing cars, and providing reports and information to foreign railroads and the RRVW accounting department.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Secondary education in computer skills is preferred.
- Must possess good keyboarding and computer skills, including experience with programs such as Microsoft Office products (primarily Word and Excel) and basic use of databases.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Must also be able to work as a team member.
- Must have excellent communications skills. Communicate with co-workers, management, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
- Must possess the ability to work accurately, pay attention to detail and work efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to deal simultaneously with a wide variety of tasks and organize work efficiently.
- Must be able to problem solve quickly and effectively.
- Must be able to provide routine office and clerical support tasks.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable to drive company vehicles.
- Must be able to read and understand safety instructions, books of rules, regulations, timetables, bulletins, waybills, placards, and other written or printed material of all railroad operations.
- Requires walking outdoors in rail yard over uneven surfaces.
- Knowledge of railroad industry operations and terminology would be preferred, but it is not required.
