Chiquita Canyon Landfill , a Waste Connections company, is looking for an Operations S upervisor to join the team in Castaic, CA! This person will be supervising our night crew of technicians/laborers at our tank farms on site.

As a member of our elite Waste Connections Operations team, you will be signing up for a company that is committed to our employee’s long-term career development and success. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in growing with the company and with goals of advancing to higher –level management positions within 1-3 years.
The schedule is subject to change, but to start it will be Sunday night - Saturday morning 7pm-3:30am. 6 days per week, 8-10 hours shifts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Supervising and acting as the point of contact for a crew of 3-5 technicians and laborers
+ Replacing and repairing valves and tanks used for holding liquid
+ Moving and securing hoses from trucks to tanks
+ Communicating clearly with other employees and vendors regarding liquid management
+ Working with Compliance Manager on other paperwork and supervisory duties as needed
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
+ Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, odors, hazardous materials and/or loud noises
+ Moderate physical activity, such as walking up and down hills, climbing stairs, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
+ Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following safety precautions and training
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
+ HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) training is highly preferred. Ability to get the 40 hour certification once hired is required.
+ Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
+ Ability to train and motivate staff.
+ Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
+ Ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple priorities.
+ Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company’s safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness
+ Experience working with hazardous waste is highly desirable
+ Ability to adhere to work schedule, take initiative, and follow through on challenges as they arise
+ Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
+ Ability to effectively communicate with vendors, customers, and other employees
Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000
Bonus: 0-10%
