Job Summary and Essential Functions:Provides technical, administrative and communications support to the Integrated Resources Division. Assists with development and promotion of customer programs concerned with demand and energy reduction goals. Acts as initial liaison for new commercial customers interacting with other departments as necessary. Assists with special events, presentations, as well as community and public relations efforts.

Main Responsibilities
- Assists in the development and promotion of marketing strategies, targeted outreach programs and other applicable services for RMLD’s customers to meet demand and energy reduction goals that benefit the customer as well as supports the optimization of the electric system and power supply portfolio
- Keeps supervisor aware of public concerns and requests
- Acts as an initial liaison for new commercial customers with Customer Service, Engineering and Operations and Integrated Resources Departments
- Responsible for obtaining load information and developing customer deposits as well as providing customer with RMLD terms, conditions and contact information
- Works in conjunction with customer service to provide new residential customers with RMLD terms and conditions
- Prepares all purchase requisitions for the division
- Assists in generating auditing reports and departmental budgets
- Performs management scheduling functions
- Programs data collection and configurations for presentation
- Maintains databases and spreadsheets
- Prepares Training/Travel authorization and expense reports for staff within the IRD division in accordance with RMLD Policy 5: Training/Travel and RMLD practice and procedures.
- Assists in the coordination of special events and functions for internal and external customers including visits, tours, presentations and meetings
- Assists Marketing Manager and Communications Manager with projects and provides limited coverage in his/her absence including preparation of press releases
- Keeps open communications between departments
- Develops and implements consistent and timely, internal and external website updates to accurately reflect current programs/configurations
- Supports all RMLD staff and departments as needed
- Monitors energy programs at regional utilities and communicates with industry peers regarding trends in program design and effectiveness
- Monitors state and federal energy and environmental issues that impact RMLD customers
- Strong analytical skills
- Knowledge of contemporary utility environmental issues including climate change, decarbonization, renewable energy, energy conservation, energy efficiency, demand response, building and transportation electrification, and energy storage
- Knowledge of electric utility customer energy efficiency and conservation programs including incentives, rebates and rates
- Understanding of customer relations, marketing, business program development, business finance and customer accounts
- Possesses knowledge or be capable of learning of electric utility fundamentals, technical utility aspects related to Integrated Resources, including power supply, risk management, key accounts, customer programs and public relations
- Effective oral, written and communication skills to facilitate development of materials for internal and external audiences (employees, customers, newspapers and boards)
- Strong computer software skills to facilitate development internal and external web updates, Excel formulated spreadsheets, project scheduling, Power Point, SharePoint and desk top publishing
- Familiarity with social media and websites
- Work may involve occasional moving and carrying of light equipment and/or materials, including customer site visits
- Moderate physical effort may be required on an intermittent basis
- High level of ability to operate computers, keyboards, scanners, printers and other related equipment and tools in the performance of this position
- Demonstrates professionalism when addressing customers and refers complex and politically sensitive issues to appropriate supervisor
- Ability to accurately delineate RMLD customer programs in public settings and provide appropriate feedback to Division manager to improve customer relations
- Multi-task oriented, able to set priorities, manages time and completes assigned work in a timely manner under deadline pressures
- Maintains current CDP plan
- Maintains awareness of relevant issues and trends that could impact RMLD customers
- Seeks out and shares information with peers
Education
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Energy, Environment Science or related degree, as determined by the RMLD.
- Three years of experience related to public relations, community relations or customer accounts in an electric utility.
- Valid driver's license or equivalent.
