The Clinical Director of Congenital Cardiac Anesthesiology oversees clinical operations of the congenital cardiac anesthesia team ensuring exceptional patient care and the smooth delivery of congenital cardiac anesthesia services, maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and process improvement. This leader will also support the diversity, wellness and professional development of congenital cardiac faculty, teaching of learners and furthering the science of the field through scholarship. To accomplish these missions, this role collaborates closely with Departmental and Divisional leaders, perioperative, surgical and cardiology leadership, as well as Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) Heart Institute administrative teams. The selected individual must maintain a full-time faculty position in the Department of Anesthesiology, Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology, at the Associate Professor or Professor level. An MD or DO is required as is board certification in anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesia. In their faculty position, the individual must continue clinical duties, which include supervising advanced practice providers and learners in a clinical setting. Additionally, the faculty member is expected to maintain his or her academic productivity and scholarship activities. The following statements describe the general nature and level of work performed.
