Job Details
The Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Manager leads, manages, and supports a team of specialty pharmacists, pharmacy liaisons, and specialists. Responsibilities include optimizing operational and clinical pharmacy services within hematology and oncology, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations, and contributing to quality patient care and outcomes. This role demands leadership in optimizing patient outcomes, strategic growth in specialty services, and promoting efficient, high-quality care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Program Development
Develop and expand clinical pharmacy services in ambulatory specialty clinics.
2. Operational Management
Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling and personnel utilization.
3. Performance & Quality Improvement
Implement quality assurance measures and improve processes to meet service and program outcomes.
4. Professional Development & Administrative Duties
Set and pursue annual goals in alignment with hospital and departmental missions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- BS Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy.
- A master’s degree in related field (MBA, MPH, MS in pharmacy) is preferred but not required.
- Completion of specialized clinical residency in Hematology Oncology or other specialty settings preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
- Work requires licensure to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts by the hire date.
- Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP).
- Applicant can be licensed in another state and pending reciprocation.
EXPERIENCE:
- Post-graduate training or at least two years of pertinent work experience.
- Must have work experience in providing direct patient care in Hematology and or Oncology and some leadership experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Work requires a high level of analytical ability, organizational, and personal management skill to function as a role model and focus to ensure the concerted approach to clinical operations.
- Must also be able to evaluate current pharmacy services and procedures to improve them through an evaluative process.
- Work requires a high level of interpersonal skills to relate to hospital healthcare personnel working cooperatively and collaboratively to resolve situations and problems, as well as effectively communicating and displaying leadership within and outside of the department.
- Work requires a high level of computer skills including all Microsoft Office platforms.
