- Position Summary
- Reports to the administrator and works in conjunction with department directors across Ambulatory Oncology Services to direct and manage project development from beginning to end. Defines project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Develops full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders. Estimates the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommends subsequent budget changes where necessary. Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate project work group personnel. Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team. Plans and schedules project time lines and milestones using appropriate tools. Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzes results, and troubleshoots problem areas. Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, and devises contingency plans. Defines project success criteria and disseminates them to involved parties throughout project life cycle. Coaches, mentors, motivates and supervises project team members, vendors and contractors, and influences them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work. Builds, develops, and grows any business relationships vital to the success of the project. Conducts project post mortem and creates a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements. Develops best practices and tools for project execution and management. Manages the Ambulatory Oncology Services capital budget and submits regular updates to administrator.

- Experience
- 2-3 Years Project Management - Required
- Project management experience preferred in a healthcare environment; extensive knowledge of functions and organizational relationships; and knowledge of procedures, policies and practices related to strategic and operational systems in healthcare service line, oncology preferred.
- License & Certification
- Professional Certification - Required
- Project Management Certification required, or must be obtained within 18 months of hire.

- Prepares projects costs, budgets, estimates labor resources, equipment, and supplies per project. Drafts and submits budget proposals and recommends budgetary changes during project activities. Manages the capital budget expenditures over the course of the year.
- Oversees the work of the assigned staff within each project workgroup associated with the project; this ensures project implementation schedules are accurate, effective and staff are accountable to deliverables. Identifies critical issues and facilitates resolution and/or escalates to appropriate manager, director, or administration. Contributes appropriately to performance reviews for staff assignments and conducts overall teamwork review for each project. Mentors and coaches team members to strive for excellence and learn from mistakes.

Communicates effectively the project expectations to team members and stakeholders; through effective communications, resolves issues and conflicts within the project team and redirects focus to deliverables.
- Works closely with the SJC Ambulatory Oncology and LCRP Administrators to establish goals, objectives, and work closely to establish FTE and operational budgets. Works with management on project proposals for the establishment of new technologies and capital equipment purchases; manages capital equipment plan in conjunction with the LCRP administrator and reports monthly to LCRP administration the status on projects.
- Works with key management to ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with regulatory, meaningful use and other contractual requirements.
