THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a GAS COMPRESSIONFIELD TECHNICIAN to join our growing operations at our Resource Energy EquipmentShreveport, LA location.
COMPETITIVE SALARY
Salary is based on a technician's experience, skills, education and training. For technicians, overtime is typically calculated daily after 8 hours worked.
YOU
The person in this role will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair activities on gas compression and/or process equipment, at customer's location, as directed.
YOUR CONTRIBUTION
- Demonstrate troubleshooting and repair skills on multiple types of equipment including Caterpillar, Cummins, and Waukesha Engines as well as multiple types of Compressors.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance to standard with minimal assistance.
- Have high level customer service and communication skills.
- Use computer skills, including specific programs (Cat ET, Cat SIS, Waukesha ESM, Ariel Performance, Murphy Configuration Tool, etc.)
- Regularly complete and submit company required documentation through company software in a timely manner.
MOST IMPORTANT QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of gas engines and compressors, electrical systems, panel boards, skid wiring, etc.
- Working knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations.
- General understanding of customer's production equipment (Scrubbers, on/off skid).
- Understands all processes and systems on how a compressor package works.
- Knowledge of maintenance standards checklist and ability to follow accurately and completely.
- Typically, at least 5 years of experience with natural gas engines and compressors, and a working knowledge of production equipment.
- May serve as a resource to others with less experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Gas or diesel engine and compressor school/training preferred.
JOB FACTS
- SHIFT SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 7am - 5pm; may require working hours outside standard work schedule (specifics discussed during interviews)
- WORK ENVIRONMENT: Requires physical movement, lifting, squatting, bending, climbing, and working with mechanical rotating parts in the Louisiana climate

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to occasionally lift 75 pounds from floor to chest. The employee must have the ability to reach and use the arms within a full range of motion in order to retrieve stocked parts. The employee must have the ability to endure prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching and squatting while performing mechanical operations. The employee must be able to exert push/pull forces with the arms in order to use various wrenches and tools. The employee must be able to endure prolonged forward and overhead arm positions while performing mechanical operations. The employee must be able to use the hands to grasp hand tools and parts. The employee must have the ability to climb onto and operate equipment. The employee must have the ability to operate and maintain a field service vehicle with GVW of less than 26,000 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Employee regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. The noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with occasional loudness when equipment is running.
