Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital Outpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation is housed within two outpatient sites that offer a full scope of rehabilitative services for children ranging from birth to age 21 with a range of diagnoses and conditions. Our pediatric rehabilitation team operates within a collaborative, fast-paced, and patient-centered environment with the goal of working with children to maximize their potential.
Arnold Palmer Hospital Outpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation is seeking for an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat children of varying abilities through the therapeutic use of everyday activities to develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.
Shift: Pool
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
- Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources.
- Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives.
- Evaluate and recommend various types of durable medical equipment.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.
- Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate, and prepares written documentation as required by the department, and the care team.
- Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing within our EMR.
Other Related Functions
- Participates in Performance Improvement, program development, student supervision, assigned committees, safety and infection control, as required.
- Communicates and collaborates with multiple specialty healthcare providers.
- Demonstrates an awareness of legal issues, patient right and compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Attends rehabilitation meetings, in-services, and any patient care meetings that are required for the assignment.
- Practices efficient use and selection of supplies and equipment.
- Instructs support personnel in their duties as necessary.
- Maintains a positive and encouraging treatment environment.
Education/Training
Bachelor’s degree from an approved program in occupational therapy.
Licensure/Certification
- Maintains current occupational therapist license in the State of Florida.
- A temporary occupational therapist license is acceptable until the team member sits for full licensure.
- Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
Experience
Two (2) years of outpatient pediatric experience preferred.
