About the Job
Position Summary
To provide occupational therapy services in complies with laws and regulations applicableto this position and actin accordance with Corporate Compliance Program. The Occupational Therapististoperformpatientcare tasks under minimal supervision with advanced skillsin clinical reasoning, problem-solving and treatment interventions. Evaluate and treats patients, as well asprovidedirection and supervision of Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants as indicated within the Texas licensing Board and American Occupational Therapy Association scopeofpractice.
Essential Dutiesand Responsibilities
Providedirect customer care that meets department and professional standardsofpractice, including customer evaluation and assessment, development of occupational therapycareplan, customer treatment, family/caregiver training, and discharge planning. May serve asa clinician inboth the inpatient and outpatient settings
Evaluates for, recommends, applies, and educates patienton prosthetic, supportive devices, and equipment asappropriate
Participatesin clinical teaching, including the clinical instruction of occupational therapy interns/students
Performs all necessary customer care documentation, including assessments, planofcare,progress notes, discharge summaries, and charges for evaluation and treatment. Documentation must reflect patient status, progress, and changes
Schedules and maintains assigned customer caseload consistent with department productivity standards
Informs supervisor if problems ariserelatedto the deliveryof customer careorcaseload volume
Ensures documentation and billing are timely, accurate, and complete, including evaluations, re- certifications, progress notes, and discharge summaries
Identifies need for equipment repairorupgradeto maintain quality ofcare
Attends and participatesin in-service training.

Work Environment
This job operatesina post-acute setting. Thisrole requires regular walking to various locations around the facility. Thisrolealso routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. Team member is expected to adhere to facility’s no-smoking policy.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required totalk and hear. Thispositionis very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 60 pounds.
PositionTypeand Expected HoursofWork
Thisisapositionina post-acute setting that isopen24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Weekend and holiday shifts will berequired.
