Overview
Precision Valley Communications is a leading provider of engineering, design and construction services for cable, telephony and utility customers. With headquarters in Springfield, Vermont, PVC also has office locations in Connecticut and Massachusetts. PVC's field services include the mapping and design of strand and as-built, as well as make-ready engineering and pole audits. PVC construction teams work closely with MDU fiber builds and underground conduit and structure builds.
We are seeking MDU Engineers in the Connecticut market area with previous MDU and/or OSP Engineering experience particularly MDU Path Design.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
- Visit customer sites to gather MDU site survey information and determine best fiber deployment to feed units in building or complex
- Evaluate construction standards and build a cost effective estimate.
- Coordinate with drafting personnel located in remote offices to produce OSP/ISP construction drawings.
- Solve complex OSP engineering problems with innovative solutions and select the most effective OSP design
- Work as part of a multi-faceted team consisting of engineering, construction, project management, and scheduling personnel, all with a common interest of delivering results to the customer
- Daily engagement with engineering team and project management staff via emails / phone as well as occasional in-person meetings
- Report and have accountability to the Project Manager with frequent updates on project progress and risks
- Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to regulations and policies.

Who we are looking for…
- Previous working knowledge of fiber construction industry standards, practices and regulations pertaining to the construction of fiber optic outside and inside plant facilities
- Candidate has previous knowledge of aerial and underground construction methods and engineering and construction requirements will be given high priority.
- Effective communication skills
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to travel
