Nutritional Planner and Cook - Spherion

The Meal Planner and Cook will oversee all aspects of meal preparation and nutrition planning for a senior living facility. This role involves creating nutritious and appealing menus tailored to the dietary needs of seniors, preparing meals with care, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for serving the elderly, strong culinary skills, and knowledge of dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements for older adults.

Responsibilities:
Develop weekly and monthly menus that cater to seniors' dietary needs, including low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, and other health-specific requirements.
Incorporate variety, balance, and seasonal ingredients into meal plans.
Prepare and cook meals daily according to the planned menu, ensuring quality, taste, and nutritional value.
Serve meals on time and maintain appropriate portion sizes.
Work within a designated budget while ensuring high-quality ingredients are used.
Stay updated on trends in senior nutrition and incorporate best practices into meal planning.
Attend training sessions or workshops as required by the facility.

Working hours: Various Shifts Available

Skills:
Over 12 months experience preferred.

Education:
No Degree Required

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
Proven experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a senior living facility or healthcare environment.
Knowledge of dietary needs and nutritional guidelines for older adults.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene practices.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a compassionate attitude toward senior residents.
Must be ServSafe Certified.
