About the Job
The Nutrition Supervisor /Chief Nutritionist primary job function is to be responsible for providing and supporting all nutrition and breastfeeding delivery of service to the CHS WIC participants. Position also manages training of WIC staff in relevant nutrition and breastfeeding topics, outreach to the community, and quality improvement for WIC program.
Experience in supervising direct service workers and/or graduate students. Experience in carrying responsibility for program development and accountability. Demonstrated leadership ability, good organizational ability, proven ability to establish and maintain positive community relationships. The prospective employee must be able and willing to function as an effective leader in the absence of the program Director.

Monday and Thursday - 08:30AM - 04:30PM or 09:00AM - 04:00PM
Tuesdays - 07:00AM - 03:00PM or 08:00AM - 04:00PM
Wednesdays - 10:30AM - 06:30PM or 11:30AM 07:30PM
Responsibilities:
WIC (Women, Infant and Children) Nutrition Services
- Provides initial WIC assessment for WIC participants and develops nutrition care plans with participants centered goals and monitor participants’ progress towards those goals
- Provide breastfeeding support and education and make may make referral to IBCLC as needed.
- Provide medical nutrition therapy as per referral.
- Develops and ensure that staff nutritionists provide nutrition classes for participants.
- Coordinate participants’ services and referrals with appropriate agencies.
- Participate in case plan reviews and interdisciplinary team meetings.
Training
- In conjunction with WIC director trains WIC staff agency on SWO protocols provides the following training for WIC staff:
- How to conduct non high risk assessments and counseling;
- Molly Kellogg
- VENA training
- Nutrition education, nutrition services training and WIC training
Outreach
- Participate in health fairs, representing CHS WIC nutrition programs.
- Conduct presentations and collaborate CHS WIC nutrition and breastfeeding programs to local agencies.
Attendance
- Ensures attendance and hours worked are accurately recorded in computerized timekeeping system
- Properly manages paid vacation and sick leave
Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s Degree in Nutrition or Public Health required; Registered Dietician preferred
Work Experience Requirement:
Prefer 3-5 year WIC experience as a Dietitian/Nutritionist or serving the underserved population are preferably.
