- Serve as a role model for upholding company policies and procedures, fostering a culture of compliance and accountability
- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the Healthcare Services programs and activities
- Assist department health care leaders in the development and use of departmental policies and procedures and establish a rapport in and among departments
- Interprets Healthcare Services policies and procedures for team members, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc., as necessary
- Represent the Healthcare Services in dealings with outside agencies, including governmental agencies and third-party payers, or provide an authorized representative of the Healthcare Services when unable to attend such meetings
- Make routine inspections of the Healthcare Services to ensure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed
- Oversee Healthcare Services surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies and ensure horizontal accountabilities for all other departments as required for the survey process
- Review and develop a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such plan to the governing board and others as required
- Maintains a close liaison with residents, guests, families, and POAs
- Participates on various committees such as the Resident or Family Council Meetings
- Lead the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified quality deficiencies
- Establish relevant Key Performance Indicators for healthcare functional areas and monitor and report performance and progress towards targets
- Consult with department leaders concerning the operation of their departments to assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas and/or improving services
- Assist the Executive Director in identifying and promoting cross-training and cross-utilization of team members
- Ensure that high standards of care and safety are maintained; participate in implementing improvements in the Healthcare Services operations as required
- Authorizes the purchase of equipment/supplies in accordance with established NLCS purchasing policies and procedures
- Directly oversee the community clinic, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, skilled nursing, and assisted living departments
- Prepares an annual operating and capital budget for approval by the executive director and finance and allocates resources to carry out the programs and activities of the Healthcare Services
- Reviews and interprets monthly financial statements and provides such information to the executive director and governing board
- Keeps abreast of economic conditions and/or situations, makes adjustments as necessary to ensure the continued ability to provide quality care
- Develops and implements a survey-ready program, ensuring that the highest quality of care and quality of life are offered to all residents in collaboration with all constituents, including residents, team members, and families. Survey-ready means leading the community to comply with federal and state regulations related to healthcare services
- Assist the executive director as needed with new projects that will require multi-departmental collaboration or task forces
- Builds and fosters productive working relationships with other senior leadership team members
- Oversee and lead a dynamic team, providing regular coaching and support to enhance performance; conduct stay interviews to gauge employee satisfaction and retention, and manage payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely compensation for all team members, and other supervisory responsibilities
Requirements
Job requirements are:
A valid Nursing Home Administrator's license in the state of employment
A bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred
Five years of experience in a skilled nursing care facility or in a supervisory capacity within a hospital setting, with a focus on skilled nursing services
Two years of supervisory experience in a life plan community setting

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt
Salary range is per $135-$185k year and is based on skills and experience.
