Non-Retail Pharmacy Technician - Walmart

Walmart Central Fill Pharmacy is a specialized type of pharmacy that focuses on processing and dispensing of prescriptions for multiple retail pharmacy locations within a region.  Unlike a traditional pharmacy, Central Fill is full of automation allowing prescriptions to be filled fast and accurately, but the best part of Central Fill pharmacy is taking care of our patients in the community. While we are not patient facing, our job provides retail pharmacies the ability to spend much deserved time providing clinical services and education to the communities they serve.

• Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies as prescribed by physicians.
• Process prescriptions, including counting, bottling, packaging, labeling, and recording medication dosages.
• Receive and process prescriptions, including entering prescription information into computer system and verifying accuracy.
• Perform inventory control, including stocking and re-stocking medications and supplies, removing expired items, and reporting on inventory levels.
• Answer phone calls, manage customer queries and forward complex queries to the pharmacist.
• Process insurance claims and manage payments.
• Comply with all security measures and quality standards of pharmaceutical care.
• Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, including storing and disposing of medications and supplies properly.
• Participate in training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care and pharmacy operations.

Physical Requirements

• Moves, lifts, carries, and places merchandise and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Stands for long periods of time.
• Grasps, turns, and manipulates objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

What We’re Looking For:

• Registered Pharmacy Technicians: Must be currently registered with the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy
• Certified Pharmacy Technicians: Must be certified (PTCB or NHA) and registered with the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy

Competitive Pay and Shift Differentials:

• Registered Pharmacy Technicians: Starts at $17.00/hr
• Certified Pharmacy Technicians: Starts at $19.50/hr
• Shift Differentials: + $2/hr for 2nd Shift, + $3/hr for 3rd Shift

We are hiring for the following shifts:

• 1st shift: from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• 2nd shift from 4:00 PM - 4:00 AM
• 3rd shift from 9:00 PM - 9:00 AM

*Availability to work 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts, it is a rotating schedule from Sunday to Friday
*Schedules are subject to change to meet business need and due to associate availability.
*Must have flexibility to work any day during the week between shift availability times as needed for facility holiday closures, training, and overtime.
